TV to broadcast ‘The Elephant King’ in Nowruz

Animated piece ‘The Elephant King’ is to broadcast on Iranian TV, IRIB during Nowruz.

Directed by Hadi Mohammadian, the animation will air on Iran TV during the Persian New Year holidays.

Produced by Iran-based Honar Pooya Group, the animation has been described as a step forward both from the view point of technique and content.

Running for 90 minutes in collaboration with a team of 150 professionals, ‘Elephant King’ has the largest number of characters among Iranian animations.

Set in Africa, the animation film narrates the story of an elephant who rules over its group like a king.

The queen bears him a son and everybody expects the son to replace his father as heir to the throne. The clumsy baby elephant, however, disappoints them all.
